The Bay of Fires glows with a brilliance all its own, turquoise waters tumbling against powder-white sand, the sun burning bright above. This painting carries me back to a time of freedom, a journey to Tasmania in the early days of love, before mortgages and children, when life felt unbounded and light. In the shimmer of sea and sky I tried to hold onto that carefree spirit, that breathless joy of beginning, love radiant and unencumbered, as vast and luminous as the ocean itself.
