Wash of Thought
Winterton Beach, Norfolk, United Kingdom.
Oil on Canvas 100x80x2.5cm
This was my first large canvas, painted soon after we arrived in Norfolk. On Winterton Beach, the horizon opens wide, the sky dissolves into sea, light into water. Here, the air itself seemed to breathe with possibility. The waves, in their endless rhythm, spoke of renewal. Each one arriving as though for the first time, each one receding to make way for what is next. This painting is a meditation on that boundless expanse, where the ocean becomes both mirror and messenger, carrying the timeless promise that every tide offers us a new beginning.
